Elderflower Cordial

Ever fancied making your own elderflower cordial? Its much easier then you think!
You'll only need 4 ingredients and you're all set to start making.
Ingredients
- 2 Lemons
- 75g Elderflowers (Opened up)
- 750g Sugar (You can try less)
- 600ml Water

ELDERFLOWERS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE TO PICK FROM MID MAY TO MID JUNE!
So if you want to make your own cordial don't wait around.
Method
1. Add 600ml of water to a saucepan and turn on.
2. Add in your sugar and bring to the boil to dissolve the sugar.
3. While your sugar is dissolving cut your lemons into small pieces.
4. Check there are no bugs on your freshly picked flowers and add to the bowl with your lemons.
5. Once your sugar has dissolved and the water is boiling, pour over your lemons and elderflowers.
6. Now leave the bowl covered with a towel overnight. (At least 8 hours)

7. You will need a nut bag or small holes sieve to strain your cordial.
8. Pour the liquid through the sieve/ bag to remove all of the lemons and flowers.
9. Then pour into your bottle and you can drive straight away or store in the fridge for 3-4 weeks.

10. Drink as normal cordial with a single measure of cordial and topped up with water flat or sparkling.
ENJOY !!!
I store mine in a large recycled glass bottle in the fridge.
Hope this is helpful and you enjoy making your own cordial!
